Plan your vacation to the area in August so you can take in the Whitecourt Woodlands Rodeo. Every year, the Whitecourt District Agricultural Society’s Rodeo Committee work hard to make the event bigger and better than the year before.
The 2022 Rodeo will be no different. Taking place AUGUST 5-7, the weekend starts at 5 PM Friday with a Beef-on -a Bun Cowboy Supper, at the Rodeo Grounds at Whitecourt District Agricultural Society , located on Hwy 32 South, 8 kms south of Whitecourt.
FRIDAY
Gates open at 5 PM on Friday night. Grab your beef on a bun Cowboy Supper, included with the price of admission.
It's a huge draw to have the All Pro Canadian Chuckwagon & Chariots onboard for 2022. Set for a 6:30 PM start, we’re gauging a lot of excitement for chuckwagon and chariot racing all three (3) nights.
Free camping available with weekend pass, and Friday’s live entertainment - comedian, Cindy Rivers - will begin right after the Chuckwagons and Chariot Races at 9:00 PM.
SATURDAY
Grab breakfast at the Cook Shack starting at 8 AM on Saturday and Sunday.
Gates open at 9 AM on Saturday. The Whitecourt Wheels Car Show will begin at 10 AM.
Starting at 10 AM take in the Junior Rodeo. Youth boys and girls compete in Breakaway Roping, Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, Team Roping and Goat Tying.
Set for a 2 PM start, watch the Wildrose Rodeo Association (WRA) events, co-sanctioned by the Lakeland Rodeo Association (LRA) and Foothills Cowboys Association (FCA). Cowboys face off in numerous events - Bareback, Novice Horse, Calf Roping, Junior Steer Riding, Steer Wrestling, Junior Bull Riding, Junior Breakaway Roping, Ladies Barrels, Junior Barrels, Peewee Barrels, Saddle Bronc Riding and Team Roping. Whitecourt Woodlands Rodeo boasts the largest number of contestants within the three associations.
Chuckwagons and Chariots run all three Nights - Friday at 6:00 PM , Saturday at 6:30 PM and Sunday at 4:00pm
Daily concessions, 50/50 raffles and beer gardens are available every day.
SUNDAY
Grab breakfast at the Cook Shack starting at 8 AM.
9 AM action for slack events on Sunday morning.
Gates open at 11 AM.
Set for 2 PM catch Day 2 of Wildrose Rodeo Association (WRA) action, co-sanctioned by the Lakeland Rodeo Association (LRA) and Foothills Cowboys Association (FCA). Bareback, Novice Horse, Calf Roping, Junior Steer Riding, Steer Wrestling, Junior Bull Riding, Junior Breakaway Roping, Ladies Barrels, Junior Barrels, Peewee Barrels, Saddle Bronc Riding and Team Roping.
Kids infield games are a huge hit and will run on Sunday, taking place at the halftime show during the WRA Rodeo events.
Chuckwagons and Chariots run at 5 PM Sunday. Custom belt buckles will be awarded at wrap-up.
